Privacy Policy

Summary: We collect only what we need to run Best Ball Maniacs, and we do not sell your data. Teams you track are scored on a public leaderboard under an anonymous label unless you choose to show a name.

1. Who we are

Best Ball Maniacs ("we," "us," or "our") operates bestballmaniacs.com. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your first name, last name, email address and password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored in plain text. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name and email address from that service.

Usage data. Our own analytics system records the pages you visit and the features you use. Each record includes the page address and title, the referring site, your browser's user agent, your screen size, a random session identifier, and, if you are signed in, your account ID. Because it can be tied to your account, this data is not anonymous. We use it only to understand and improve the site, and we do not share it with advertising networks.

Content you create. We store what you save on the site, including custom rankings, portfolio teams (rosters, contests, draft dates, draft slots and entry fees), mock draft results, draft lottery rooms and your leaderboard handle.

Screenshot imports. When you import a draft screenshot into the portfolio tracker, the image is read in your browser. The image itself is not uploaded to us; only the players you confirm are saved.

Newsletter. If you subscribe to our email, your email address is collected through our hosting provider's form service.

Browser storage. We use your browser's local storage, not tracking cookies, to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as the platform tab you last chose. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

3. How we use your information

Provide your account and save your rankings, portfolios and draft history
Score your tracked teams every week and rank them on the leaderboard
Improve site performance, features and the user experience
Send important updates about the platform, and the newsletter if you subscribed
Monitor and prevent abuse or misuse of the platform

4. The leaderboard and public information

Every team in the portfolio tracker is scored weekly and can appear on the public leaderboard. A team's entry shows its rank, points, platform, contest name, draft slot and the players on its roster. By default, each team appears under an anonymous label such as "Maniac #12345", and your name and email address are never shown.

If you opt in on the leaderboard page, the handle you choose is shown next to your teams. You can turn it off at any time, and your teams go back to anonymous labels. Summaries built from all tracked teams, such as which players the top teams drafted, are also published.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored with Supabase, which provides encryption in transit and at rest, row-level security and secure authentication. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is completely secure.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited cases:

Service providers: Supabase (database and sign-in), Netlify (hosting and the newsletter form), and Google or GitHub if you use them to sign in. They process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process or a government request.
Public information: What appears on the leaderboard, as described in section 4.

7. Sponsored links

We have a paid partnership with Forecash Sports. Links to Forecash are labeled "Sponsored" and include tracking parameters that tell Forecash the visit came from us. We count clicks on those links in our own analytics. We do not send your personal information to Forecash; what they collect after you arrive on their site is covered by their privacy policy.

8. Your rights and choices

Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction: update your account information at any time
Deletion: request deletion of your account and its data by contacting us
Leaderboard name: turn your public handle on or off on the leaderboard page
Email: unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time

9. Children's privacy

Best Ball Maniacs is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and if we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.

10. California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact us below.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time and will post a notice on the site for significant changes. Continuing to use the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.

Terms of Service

Summary: Use Best Ball Maniacs responsibly and respectfully. Our tools are for entertainment and information. We provide the platform as is and are not responsible for fantasy sports outcomes.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using bestballmaniacs.com (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may update these terms at any time, and continued use of the Site means you accept the changes.

2. Description of service

Best Ball Maniacs provides free fantasy football tools and resources, including mock draft simulators, custom player rankings, portfolio tracking with a weekly leaderboard, home league tools, articles, and player statistics and ADP data. NFL statistics come from the open nflverse project. The tools are provided for entertainment and information only.

3. User accounts

Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your password secure, accept responsibility for activity under your account, and tell us promptly about any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its systems
Use automated scripts, bots or scrapers to collect data from the Site without permission
Choose a leaderboard handle or post content that is harmful, abusive, defamatory or otherwise objectionable
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone
Interfere with or disrupt the Site or its servers
Reverse-engineer or extract source code from the Site

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you create on the Site, such as rankings and portfolio entries. By saving it, you give Best Ball Maniacs a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and display it within the platform, including your tracked teams on the leaderboard as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for what you save, and we may remove content or handles that break these terms.

6. The leaderboard

The leaderboard ranks tracked teams for fun and information. It is not a contest and carries no prizes unless we announce one separately with its own rules. Scores are calculated from public statistics and may be corrected when those statistics change. We may leave out or remove teams whose data appears inaccurate, and teams entered after a season's cutoff date are scored but not ranked.

7. Intellectual property

The original content, features, design and functionality of Best Ball Maniacs belong to us and are protected by intellectual property laws. NFL team names, player names and related trademarks belong to their owners and are used for information only. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and all tools are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that projections, ADP data, rankings, scores or other content are accurate or will lead to good fantasy results. Mock drafts approximate real draft behavior and may not reflect any particular platform. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Best Ball Maniacs and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data or use, arising from your use of the Site. This includes decisions made based on projections, rankings or other content on the Site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months, which, since the Site is free, is zero.

10. Fantasy sports disclaimer

Best Ball Maniacs is an information tool for fantasy sports entertainment. We are not a gambling platform and do not handle real-money entries. Decisions you make about paid contests on other platforms are your own risk, and those platforms set their own eligibility rules. Past results and projections do not guarantee future results.

11. Third-party and sponsored links

The Site links to other websites, including sponsored links that are labeled as such. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies or practices of other sites, and you visit them at your own risk.

12. Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the Site at our discretion, without notice, for conduct we believe violates these terms or harms other users, us or third parties.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Site will be resolved in the appropriate courts.
